Cyst excisions, Callosities, Warts and nail removal

Cysts are common sacs that may grow in your skin due to clogged sebaceous glands, infection, or something similar. They are generally caused by blockages in your body’s systems and tend to be harmless or benign, but in cases where your cyst is infected and becomes painful, Cyst excisions must be performed. Wartsare infections in the skin that may occur in different parts of the body. They may sometimes grow around your nails and cause problems with nail growth and development.

Cyst Excisions

Dermal cysts may commonly grow in the back, abdomen, chest, and other similar areas in the body, typically starting small and getting bigger over time. They contain a sac filled with substance and may become infected if they rupture. If this happens or if you notice that your cysts are getting bigger and painful, you will need to seek professional attention. Cyst excisions are surgeries performed to remove the cyst from your skin to prevent it from growing.

Even without a pressing concern, you can still opt for a cyst excision if you do not like how your cyst looks or generally prefer it to be removed. However, since the procedure is a type of surgery, you will need to stay rested before you can get home. At the same time, getting a cyst excision does not guarantee that the cyst will not grow back, but this ultimately works on a case-to-case basis for each patient.

Callosities, on the other hand, refer to hardened or thickened parts of the skin. If you notice a hard patch anywhere on your skin, this can be a corn or callus. Several corrective measures can be done to treat these skin conditions, with more severe cases requiring surgery. For the most part, callosities can be removed by getting rid of the pressure or friction placed on the area of the skin.

Your doctor may recommend some moleskin pads or over-the-counter remedies to help alleviate the pressure. However, if your corn or calluses are infected, our doctors may prescribe antibiotics to clear them up. In more extreme cases, Callosities may be removed with surgery. The procedure is generally quick and can be done in less than an hour.

Warts and Nail Removal

Warts slightly resemble callosities since they may also appear as hard patches. However, warts may bleed when your skin is scraped, while callosities do not. Since your fingers and hands are generally prone to infection, warts can easily appear in these areas. You can consider home remedies like salicylic acid to get rid of them, but you can also have them removed professionally at our medical centre.

When getting warts and nail removal, your doctor may suggest different treatment options. Laser therapy is often the most common method used for removing warts, but with modern technology, more advanced methods like cryotherapy and immunotherapy are now also prevalent. As always, consult with your doctor first; let them assess your case and determine the best treatment plan.
