FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer bulk billing?

Yes, we do offer bulk billing for eligible services. Please note that certain services like Work Cover injuries and other services may not be eligible for bulk billing. To find out if a service is eligible for bulk billing, feel free to call us on 02 4413 2666 and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Do I need an appointment?

While it’s not mandatory to book an appointment, we do encourage it as it will help you save time. Patients with appointments will be given priority over walk-ins. So, if you do walk in, your waiting time may be significantly longer. Booking an appointment with us is a quick and simple process. Just call us on 02 4413 2666 and we’ll book you in for a date and time that works for you.

Can my doctor provide a medical certificate?

Yes, your doctor will provide you with a medical certificate if they deem them necessary. Please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation. Important note: medical certificates cannot be backdated.

I need a referral. Can I organise it over the phone?

Unfortunately, no. You will have to book an appointment to see a GP and come in person to get the referral. This is because the doctor will need to review your request and prepare a referral letter accordingly.

Can I get my test results over the phone?

No, we do not share test results over the phone. You can call our reception to see if the results are available and then book an appointment to consult with the doctor and discuss your results in person.

I have a quick question – can I talk to the doctor over the phone?

We aim to provide our patients with timely, uninterrupted service. This means we cannot interrupt consultations just so the doctor can take phone calls. If your question cannot be answered by our reception staff or practice nurse, you can leave a message and the doctor will get back to you when possible.

I need a copy of my medical records.

If you need to access your medical records, please make an appointment to discuss this with your GP. Medical records are confidential documents and we take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously here at Tuross Head Medical Centre. For more information about our Privacy Policy, please talk to one of our doctors or reception staff.

I need a repeat prescription. Can I get this organised over the phone?

No, you will need to come to the centre to get a repeat prescription. Prescriptions, new or repeat, can only be issued after a consultation in person.

Our patient-centred approach to health and wellbeing is just what you and your loved ones need.
